Thrift Store and Goodwill treasures!

Last week I was able to snag some 'real deals'!  I hadn't been to the Thrift Store for ages and I had never been to the Goodwill store in Mountain Home.   This blouse.... with the tags still on!  LOVE!  A Lee Rider blouse..........
some old clothes pins which are so much better made than the ones you can buy today...........
2 sets of long curtains in this awesome rose material which is right up my alley........this was about $3.00 for yards of material.....I may actually use them as curtains in my bedroom but if not I have some great material to use for other items...............it really looks like Cath Kidson and it may be
I have been looking for these ever since I started knitting and BINGO!  A whole set for $4.00!!!!!
These are used for blocking items and they have the same thing for about $30 if you buy them new through Knitpics or elsewhere.  These are children's alphabet pieces but are exactly the same...........this was a 'real deal'!

Tomorrow, I'll be back with another set of treasures I got at a different store that will now be a regular stop when I go to Mountain Home from now on!  Tune in tomorrow!
Happy Trails!

  2. I didn't know those are used for blocking knit projects, glad you told that. I thought they were for children to play on. You got some great deals....how fun it must have been. I'm always sorry when the shopping is over and time to get on home....with my treasures till next time anyway.

    1. They are the ones the kids play with but they are the same as the ones sold fro blocking except for the colors and the letters. I really had fun because I don't go shopping very often as it is about 1 1/2 hours away. Thanks for stopping over!

  4. You definitely got treasures. I found some dresses for Piper at our Goodwill with the tags still on. She loved them! I have the same type of blocks that I used for blocking. So much less expensive than "knitting blocks". I was just talking to my mother in law about the clothespin difference. What's with that? They are so cheaply made nowadays. How can you hold up a pair of man's jeans with them? And I love the fabric. Absolutely beautiful.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. Hi Sam :) That's a really nice blouse! I love "finds" like that! Whenever we go to thrift stores, we always look for sheets and blankets...mostly for the pets and to cover our bed and couches. Your curtains are really pretty!

    1. Thank you, Rain. I'm full up on blankets but I could use some new sheets and I am sorely short on clothing for myself. Maybe we should have a 'blog swap' or a wish list on each of our blogs for things we are looking for.

I love that old saying you mentioned in one. I have never heard of that before. You do what you can and hey be happy and do wha' cha like. Hugs to you.

    1. First, I checked at Walmart but I think they are about the same price as the knitting ones if they are new but this was meant to be! I'll probably have to wash them but hey...it's a bargain so I will not complain about that part at all. At this time in my life I have more time than money! LOL!

  8. Hi Sam, thanks for coming by my blog....It's nice to meet up via blogger. I too am retired. From housekeeping I guess lol. When hubby retired I joined him more than ever any time spent reading or blogging or any hobby. I hope you have a nice day, thanks for mentioning Pinterest in connection with some of the magazines, I must have a look.
