"Back in the saddle again".............

The grand boys are safely back home and it is quiet here.  I miss them but it's nice to get back in my old routine too....I was falling behind in a few areas plus, today is their parent's 15th wedding anniversary so it is only right that they be back home to celebrate!
I'm catching up on laundry after stripping all the beds and there's ironing to do, bills to pay and cleaning always.
When we were in Mountain Home last week, I was able to stock up on Summer candles.  We went to T.J.Max which I had not visited since it opened there several years ago.  Well.........let me tell you..........I am a BIG fan now!  They have wonderful brands and quality products for 1/2 price or more!  Where have I been???  I love T.J. Max!!!!  These candles I got are awesome, quality and not that much more than what I was paying for the cheap ones at Walmart!  And smell?  Ahhhh....they are so beautifully  scented...I'm in heaven and I wish I could give you a whiff! LOL!

I also got myself some body butter (I prefer body butter as opposed to lotions which are too runny for me)...this is luscious stuff and smells divine!  So, my advice is to head on over to your local T.J. Max and start getting some delicious deals!
In between my 'chores' I started a new project which is a CAL on Our Happy CAL Place group on Ravelry.....it's a Kitty Cat blanket and I am using stash........
I couldn't resist as my other projects are not t.v. watching material at the moment but this one is so simple and so cute!  It's a free pattern on Ravelry.  See the little kitty cats?   The CAL runs from July through September and since it is now officially Summer in the Ozarks at 106 heat index today (ouch!)...it is more like Winter....close the curtains and stay indoors!  So, I am lighting my Summer candles and crocheting and binge watching the news, The Crown and so much more! LOL!  After my chores are done, of course!
   Happy Trails!

  1. I could almost smell those candles through the computer, Your grandsons are precious and glad they had safe travels. That is the second kitty blanket I have seen. It is adorable. I might just have to make one in lap blanket size for our prayer shawl group,

  2. Glad you have a lovely visit w/your grandsons. I bet they had a ton of fun. Is Mountain Home a store or a town? The cat blanket is whimsical.

    1. Mountain Home is a town of about 12,000 and it has Lake Norfolk that has a huge bridge over it that I have to cross to get there. When my parents first moved here there was no bridge and you had to take a ferry to get to Mountain Home. It's 1 1/2 hours away but that is where the hospital is and my doctors too and the closest shopping of anything name brand. But still no yarn shop or bookstore.

  3. I'm so glad you had a great visit with your grandchildren. Two of ours will be here tomorrow for the weekend and I'm really looking forward to it. The house is so quiet when everyone leaves again.

Love that CAL. The kitty cats are so cute. I haven't been to T.J. Maxx, but after your glowing review I'll have to try to find one.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  4. Hi Sam :) Glad you had a good time with the grands! Your kitty crochet project is pretty. Oh, I love candles! I always have a strawberry one going, it it so hygge! :) I used to buy body butter, the coconut one. I loved it, but when I moved up north I just started buying lotion. I should really buy some again because it moisturizes so well. Enjoy your tv time :)

    1. Thank you, Rain! I adore candles and the scent also helps with the 'animal odor' with 2 dogs and 2 cats but mostly it's about the smells and the Hygge! LOL! Yes, I have totally switched to body butter now. Have you tried watching The Crown....it's up for an Emmy....so good! It's a series on Netflix. TTYL! Are you going to be on the YOP this Sunday? I hope so but no pressure! We don't do guilt or pressure at all! LOL!

    2. Hi Sam :) I already YOPPED my first blog post last week! :) I know you've been busy but you may have missed it because I was a few days late posting it on the Ravelry board. The Crown looks interesting. I like most of the Netflix originals, they're so much better than network tv stuff. We're watching Justified right now. It ended after 6 seasons but we're hooked. We watch till we drop lol...last night we managed 3 episodes before sleeping!

And btw, we buy vanilla candles at the dollar store because they mask the scent of Charlie's...ahem...anal gland "fragrance" lol...they really work!

    1. Oh great! Do they have the same products in all their stores or are they different...do you know? Just curious. I know their stock is always changing. I stock up only because it's so far away. I won't buy anymore now until Fall but then I will stock up big time for Winter too. I can't wait to see what they have then! I go back next week but then I will be shopping for liquid hand soap and some other things. Maybe towels or some clothes...not sure. We'll see what my budget looks like....it took a beating this month! LOL!

Tomorrow I will post the bread recipe...sorry to keep you waiting...but I didn't forget! Just trying to catch up around here.
