Lots going on around here!

What have I been doing you ask?  Nothing glamorous that's for sure but I am making some progress..........this was yesterday........I tried the Krud Kutter but I went back to Chlorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner Gel.....it sticks and it works...no runny mess........
I do little sections at a time and then let it sit for 15 or 20 minutes then I go back and scrub it with the grout brush (love that brush!) and then wipe it all up.

It's not perfect but I never feel I've wasted my time as long as it looks better than it did before.........
I'll keep working on a few sections a day until it is done and then I will completely wash the floor again.  I also have a grout paint pen for painting in the grout lines which I might use....we'll see.....most floor tiles are bigger than this but oh no, my Dad had to use smaller ones.  I guess I should be grateful they're not the 1 inch tiles! LOL!
On a fun note though, yesterday I had to make a quick trip to Walmart to get some ingredients for my supper tonight and even though the gal in the craft department said they did not have any glitter gel markers....I took a peek in the office supply aisle and guess what I found?............and the woman had one of their handheld computers where they can look it up but did she?  No, but I found them!
Not only are there glitter but also neon and metallic! Oh yeah!  I'll be having some fun with these!
I also picked up one of those 'tape runners' for my planner and my yarn journal.............I've never used one so we will see how it goes...........
and although I found the sticker department to be a bit lacking I did find these cute little birds........
I actually watched a You Tube video last night on how to decorate your planner and she gave a lot of good tips and also places to get various accessories.
Guess what came in the mail today?.............Give  up?  My hat kit!!!!! Remember I ordered it quite a while ago and then they called me and said Blue Sky Fibers were all out of the kits but they would be making up some more.  So I said that was fine and I would be more than willing to wait as I love that hat so much and it's finally here!!! Look at all those gorgeous wool skeins with every color of their new worsted wool line.......I can order with confidence now since I know what every color looks like!  I think it was a brilliant marketing strategy and every yarn company should do the same!
My only problem now is I don't have time to work on it as I am still doing birthdays and also CALs and KALs.  In fact, it was my son Ben's 39th birthday today and he still doesn't have his card or gift and this time it's not the mail who is at fault...it's Mom!  But lo and behold he and Amy did finally receive their packages that were mailed Priority on December  27th or 28th, I can't remember now.  Amy got her's yesterday and Ben got his today but everything was ruined except for the 2016 Collectible Christmas ornaments...thank goodness!  They both said the boxes looked like they'd been through WW3 and Ben's box actually had 2 things missing and the food was all wrecked......the cookies were in cookie tins and yet they had been reduced to crumbs.  So, tomorrow I will be going to the post office and not only requesting a refund on my Priority shipping cost but also collect on the $50.00 per package insurance.....we'll see how far I get with that......
My Prisma colored markers came today too....I think I have enough art supplies to last me a good long time now.................
Now I'm off to make supper.........Penzey's Brat, Beer, and Cheese soup........yum!  It's all prepped so I just have to throw it together now..........
Happy Trails!

  1. Those Prismacolor markers look great, I have the colored pencils and I love them! I have that tape runner...I lost that cover for the tip...it must be around here someplace. You are a busy woman. I am still sorting and organizing. That will be one pretty hat!! Hope you didn't get that ice storm:)

    1. Nope, no ice and barely any rain but maybe this afternoon.I don' think we have a weather station within 100 miles so the forecasts are always incorrect. I'm better off looking at the radar myself! LOL! I could stand to do some sorting and organizing too. You go girl!

  2. Forgot to say I have that same grout brush and I love it! I use a homemade mixture Into a spay bottle mix 1 1/4 cup water, 1 Cup white vinegar, 1/2 cup Lemon Juice 1/4 cup Dawn dish soap. Shake it to mix it up. I use it in the bathroom tub and sink and on the grout! I will clean all the grout toward spring and seal it all again...it has been two maybe three years since I have done it. I had a hard time finding a cleaner that didn't smell to high heaven...some cleaning days I would drive Far Guy out of the house until the house aired out. :)

    1. I hope you find them! My daughter is an art teacher so I hear about these things from her. She got hers at Target but we don't have a Target within a 100 miles.

    1. They also have glue dots which I have not tried yet but I know scrapbookers use those too. No, I don't imagine that soup is WW friendly but to me one of the great joys in life is good food so that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

  5. I'm sorry your packages got violated; the post office better refund you; that is totally uncool. I like that hat kit. I like your new art supplies. Daiso has these little tape runners that run decorations. Good pens are a must.

  6. My goodness you have had a busy day. The grout is looking great. All that "elbow grease" is working isn't it? You had lots of good finds at Walmart, but I think my favorite was the glitter pens. That's so terrible about your packages. I sent a package to Alex in Tokyo and he got it in four days. There's no excuse for what your packages went through. Here's hoping they don't argue with you and give you your money back.
    Blessings, Betsy

    1. Thanks you, I'm sure they'll make me jump through hoops to get a refund but maybe not. They've been late many times before (past the 3 days they guarantee for Priority) but I have never asked for a refund but this time is much different! I will never use them again for sending packages that's for sure! Wow! Tokyo in 4 days! That's wonderful!
