Typical Tuesday!

I almost forgot to blog!  I don't have a lot but I'm trying to blog something every day and of course my "progress list"...lol.
Yesterday , I got up early and got all the garbages emptied and relined and the garbage out to the street. I then made a list and went to Walmart.  I didn't have a lot to get just staples ie. coffee, dogfood etc.  I did get some candles though and tart warmers.  I couldn't resist as they had the Fall scents in................
I'm slowly getting all the linens washed and dried (on the line in the basement).  I just need to wash the mattress pads and I should be ready to put some back on the beds and I'll be back to normal wash schedule.  I do like to clean in the Fall better than Spring.
I made a homemade pizza Sunday night using my homemade bread dough.  It turned out really good but it could have used some green pepper or something green...I do love my vegetables.

I'm starting to light candles around the house even though it's in the 90's.  The house is closed up for the AC so I just pretend it's cold out...lol!  I usually don't use candles during the summer months.

I finished the body of the Christmas present I was working on and now need to stuff it so meanwhile I need something to pick up and knit on my breaks so I dragged out that WIP I told you about and since this is for me I can show you!  It's my first sweater that I started last Fall and then got caught up in Christmas present making and it got lost in the mayhem.  I'm learning to take notes so I know where I left off etc.  You might remember it.  It's a Mary Maxim pattern with no buttons or button holes but I imagine you could belt it if you wanted to.  I'm using a black tweed yarn that is very soft and I enjoy knitting with it.  I'll let you know what yarn it is..it might be on my Ravelry page but I have more skeins tucked away with labels so not a problem.  I just don't have it in front of me right now.   The collar is done at the top and the sweater part is increasing as I knit downward.  It's supposed to be an "easy" knit for a fist time sweater knitter so I hope they're right!
 YESTERDAY I:
went grocery shopping
put it all away
cleaned both litter boxes
emptied garbages and got it out and back in later
went to the library
did laundry
knitted section #2 of Christmas present
watered plants outside
did some clearing and organizing in the family room and kitchen
changed the sheets on my bed
blogged
and in the evening I joined a couple crochet squares and watched Big Blue Live from Monterey Bay, CA. I highly recommend.....it's wonderful and it's on tonight again and tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. on PBS starring sea otters, whales, seals......awesome!
Happy Trails!

    1. I was thinking the same thing about Miss Peeps. She did leap yesterday and knock a dish off the counter and broke it. She can't get up there.....yet. But she has jumped and knocked things out of my hand.....:"leaping lizards, Batman!" She is the most athletic cat I have ever known.

  2. My goodness you've been busy. I like candles too. I use them in the summertime all the time when the air-conditioner is on and the house has to be closed up. You sure get a lot done. Your lists make me feel like a very lazy person! Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. Even with all I seem to do I have way too much stuff and going through it all; paperwork too is what takes my time and my energy. I am trying to downsize and minimize my house and my belongings. Your house still looks far better than mine. If my house was like yours I wouldn't have all this stuff to do! LOL!
I went back and read your reply and thank you for explaining it all. You really had a time of it! No wonder your arm is still sore. I had no idea. What an ordeal you went through but I'm so happy you are on the mend and I'm sure Piper's visit helped. Keep healing...you're in my prayers.

  3. Sam I am, I do like to fall clean better than spring too. I am so happy with our cleaning progress this year. I still have more to do, but have to slow down until I get rid of this "bug" I caught. I have a list growing for a trip to town too.

    1. It's hotter than hades here. I really don't know how people in the South survived before AC. Of course, I guess it's all what you get used to. I never had it growing up.
I think I like to clean inside in the Fall because I'm coming in to spend the winter and especially when I had my little farm and worked inside at a job I spent every minute outside that I could when I was home.
I hope you feel better but at least you can relax a little knowing how much you've accomplished.

  4. I wish I could get motivated to start the organizing and purging that needs to happen around here. Feeling extra blah today with a dust storm that rolled in. The scent of Fall candles is so cozy.

    1. You will but give yourself a break...you just "retired"....enjoy! When you're home awhile it will begin to bug you. It's easier when you leave it behind each day! LOL!

  5. That's a nice tweed for the sweater. Your house must smell so good with all of those fall candles. I am taking a page from your book and scrubbing down the bathrooms today.

    1. I do love tweeds but messed up the sweater and frogged it today...oh well. I think I have too many irons in the fire right now and my mind is always thinking about something else. I'll pick it up this winter maybe after Christmas or when the gifts are all done. I still have 2 socks to finish where I only have 1 sock done. I lost all my documents with Windows 10. Still trying to get them back and all my patterns were in there and I''m out of printer ink so I can't print anything....woe is me! LOL!
Oh, you know how I use vinegar for cleaning? Well, today I saw a pin that used 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 Dawn so I tried it and it's even better. I just did my tub and it worked slick. She said to let it sit for 1 hour but my tub wan't THAT dirty! LOL! Have a great day!

  6. The Fall scents are always the nicest and it makes it feel a little like Fall even when it's hot. I need to wash some throws and lap quilts soon. It's time to change things up a bit. I've been looking at the books in the previous post and need to add some to my reading list! We like so many of the same authors. Hugs!
