Miscellaneous Saturday

This is my new bird feeder all filled with sunflower seed........
it lasted less than a week before the deer destroyed it...no more bird feeders for me I guess.  I thought it was a raccoon or squirrel that kept messing with it but then I caught them in the act and they literally broke it right off the pole.  Who knew deer had such discriminating taste?

I got my first letter from a grand child!  Sam (my namesake) wrote me the nicest letter with a drawing of he and his brother playing. I wrote him back...I think we're pen pals now.  I even got stickers on the envelope too!
Well, I finally got my fabric chosen, washed and ironed to make a knot bag.  I'm not slow or anything.
Big sis and little sis............oh, I think the glass door needs a little Windex!
"Rise and shine!"...said no miniature dachsund ever.........
"rustic" homemade pizza using leftovers in the frig...provolone, some pizza sauce, pepperoni, broccoli, bacon and mozarella..........yum!
Hen and chicks in bloom....I've never seen this before............
My nail color this week.....teal blue
I've been having fresh strawberries on my cereal all week but they're done now........so sweet compared to the ones in the store.
That's the "miscellany" for this week.  Hopefully, I will have something to post tomorrow for YOP (Year of Projects)
Happy Trails!
P.S.  American Pharoah is running in The Preakness this afternoon.  It will be televised.  He has won the first 2 "jewels" of the Triple Crown.  If he wins, it will be the first time in 37 years there has been a Triple Crown winner!

  1. Go American Pharoah. About the deer destroying your birdfeeder, we have three of the long tubular types hanging up high on nails right under the eaves of our home. The squirrels can not reach them; maybe that would work for you. Or would the deer stand on their hind legs?

    1. Thank you Terra for that advice. I think it would work as I don't think the deer would come that close to the house.
Our wishes came true! American Pharoah (really spelled pharaoh) won the Triple Crown!!!! He was in the lead the whole way! I did many Happy Dances andIi had no money on the race at all...I just love horses!

  6. My tween is dying to feed the birds. We have two, wooden bird houses on a tree. Your nails are nice and neat. Your grandson's letter made me smile.

    1. You should try hummers and hang it outside a window if you can. They are the most fun to watch and listen too and the same ones come back each year to the same feeder. This is my Mother's house and she fed them when she was alive in the same place. So, I get a great feeling feeding them thinking they are from the same family that my Mother fed all those years.

  7. Love your grandson's letter to you. So sweet. I also enjoyed you doggie photo. A few slobbery kisses on the door are expected when you have four legged kids. :-). Naughty deer anyway. With us it's the squirrels.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  9. Lots of interesting things in this post, Sam. I'm sorry the deer got to your bird feeder, what a shame. It's the squirrels here, they empty them in about five minutes and leave them hanging crookedly! Love your nail colour! Love the yummy pizza! How sweet your grandson's letter is, such a treasure.
Thank you for your sweet and interesting comments, always a joy to read :)
Wishing you a happy new week.
